who is ram?

Random Accessory Media (RAM) is an independent record label based in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

We exist to support independent artists creating innovative, genre-fluid music from bedroom studios to professional releases. Located at the heart of New York’s music ecosystem, we scout unpredictable sounds from the underground while providing the infrastructure for clean, high-impact distribution and promotion.

Our focus is on well-produced, intentional music that hits hard. We believe location and energy matter, and we operate on genuine partnerships: artists retain 100% ownership of their masters, enter straightforward licensing agreements, and share in transparent 50/50 net revenue splits with clear exit options.

we believe in partnerships, not ownership.

frequently asked questions

How do I submit music?

Submit high-quality 16 or 24-bit WAV files (actually no, send us the song the dropbox or google drive way, we do have very limited email quota) via contacting us on our email (contract@randomaccessorymedia.com). We review every submission carefully. We do not accept MP3s or low-quality files. Submissions from disrespectful or spammy accounts will be ignored.

What is the minimum age?

You must be at least 18 years old to submit and communicate with us. Artists under 18 require a parent or legal guardian to co-sign our agreement. We strongly recommend that every artist and guardian review the full contract with their own independent legal counsel before signing.

How do royalties/payouts work, especially for minors?

Royalties are calculated and reported transparently 50/50. For artists under 18, payments are issued to the parent/legal guardian's verified account. Once you turn 18, you gain full control. Standard processing takes up to 30 days after platform payouts are received.

Do you keep my masters forever?

No. We hold exclusive distribution rights to the masters for an initial term of 1–3 years. You may request reversion of masters rights (R-BMR aka Request-Based Master Reversion) earlier under certain conditions outlined in the contract.

Is there a contract?

Yes. All partnerships are governed by a clear written agreement. This formalizes rights, responsibilities, revenue splits, release timelines, and termination options for both parties. A plain-language summary of key terms is available on our website.

What if I want to leave or end the partnership?

Section 5.2 of the contract covers termination. You may choose: Path A (Full Takedown): We initiate removal from all platforms. This process typically takes 10 business days. Path B (Legacy Model): The release stays live under RAM to preserve existing streams and playlist placements while we continue paying royalties. We aim for fair, straightforward collaborations. Full contract details and a redacted template are available upon serious inquiry via email.
